Hello!

A little about my work and me.

Catering College gave me some skills that helped me artistically and I later had invaluable art lessons from a well- known portrait artist, Waldron West.

In 1970 I started designing and making soft toys to sell at craft shops.

In 1977 I also made miniatures, which were sold through a lovely little Doll’s house shop in Reigate called Polly Flinders, and the demand became such that I decided to concentrate only on them.

When Polly Flinders stopped trading I sold through the Dorking Dolls House Gallery, when, Mary Churchill owned it.

Family commitments made me consider giving up, but when various miniaturists and collectors heard this, they tried to dissuade me, one person in particular, Jean Caff positively “bullied” me, though she vehemently denies this!

I am very glad I didn’t stop and even more happy about selling ‘direct’ as it has allowed me to meet so many lovely people at the Fairs and make ‘phone friends’ and try and meet their challenges for special requests.

Consequently, I now sell direct through four fairs a year, and by post.

I wish you  many happy hours with your ‘mini-making’!
